Wine's I'm Drinking
Reds
Just a simple listing of wines I am actively drinking along with some thoughts.
Bogle Petite Syrah
This is my "house" wine. I always have many bottles on the shelf and I stock it when it's low. Seems it can sit in the cellar for as long as you like with no dramatic changes. However, they don't sit as long as I'd like. It's inky, full-bodied appearance delivers just what you'd expect. A hint of tar on the mid-palette. It's one of my favorite red wines and is about $10.99 a bottle.
Apothic Red
A masterful blend of Zin, Merlot, Syrah and Cab. Velvety, rich and round. I've had some bottles that were pretty acidic, but others OK. Priced between $10-12 a bottle.
Louis Jodot
Beaujolais red table wine. I was drinking it a lot, but it seems recently, I've either been getting bottles that are corked, or just maybe it's become flabby as my tastes have changed. I've used it more as a cooking wine lately.
Whites
Conundrum 2007
A blend of Chardonay, Viognier and Muscat but the bottle won't tell you. That is supposed to be the "Conundrum" - It's an excellent, balanced wine. Fruity and just the right amount of acid.
Fetzer Gewurtztriminer
Fruity and citrusy. I like the responsible acidity level in this one, this year :)
