Marie Schneider (nee Schmaltz)
Marie Schneider is the daughter of Anthony Schmaltz and Mary Grieser. She was born on December 27, 1900 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died on July 5, 2001 in Blue Ash, Ohio. She was baptized on January 1, 1901 at Sacred Heart Church. The sponsors were George Knorr and Helen Grieser.
Marie married Adam Schneider and together they raised 2 children: Edward and Rosemary. Marie and Adam Schneider both worked at US Shoe Corp. located on Herald Ave. in Cincinnati, Ohio. That is where they met.

Mary Schmaltz is the daughter of Martin Grieser and Mary. Her father was born in Switzerland, and her mother was born in Baden, Germany. Mary was born July 4, 1876 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died January 7, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She married Anthony Schmaltz September 28, 1898 in St. Bernard at Sacred Heart Church. Anthony and Mary resided at 1227 Rutledge Ave. Together they had 8 children: Helen, Marie, Joseph, Frank, Albert, Cecelia, Leonard, and Rosella. Their family resided in Camp Washington, Ohio.
Anthony Schmaltz
Anthony Schmaltz is the son of Antonium Schmalz and Catharinam Heberger. His parents were both born in Germany. Anthony Schmaltz was born May 8, 1870 in Deutschland, Berg am Rhein, and died August 31, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He immigrated to the US with his brother Joe on June 1, 1882. He first married Marian Puke May 23, 1894 in St. Bernard, Ohio. Together they had 1 son, Anton Schmaltz. Then, he married Mary Greiser in St. Bernard, Ohio. Anthony and Mary raised 8 children in Camp Washington, Ohio.
Rose Capal, his granddaughter, recalls his occupation was a tailor during the week and a presser on the weekends. After he retired, he delivered prescription drugs.
